If you are reading this post you probably already know live edge furniture has become very popular over the last couple years, and for good reason. In order to escape the particle board import furniture you find at the retail store, people have been drawn to the unique beauty of a live edge table. In every piece is the history of where it came from and how it became your inspiration.

The problem is, a large slab needs to be dried slowly over a period of several years in order to ensure they will not warp and twist when made into your dining room table. Supply and demand has caused many specialty wood suppliers to skip the slow drying process in an effort to keep up with the current demand. At Jewell Hardwoods we are not interested in selling a product that we can not stand behind. All our slabs sit for a minimum of 2 summers under a covered shelter before being put in the kiln.

Don’t get stuck with a slab that someone claims to be dry just to find it twisting like a potato chip a year later. Jewell Hardwoods stands behind our products whether it is a rough slab, a finished slab or a finished piece of furniture.
