Well, fellow LJ’s, this is what happens when you learn that your step-son will be moving in in 2 weeks. ALL of your projects go by the wayside, and all of a sudden, you’re building a bedroom on the other side of the wall of your workshop and office. Not only that, but everything that was stored there, is now on your workbench.

And of course, I have to put a floor in. I don’t want him walking on Concrete in his bedroom, now do I? Let’s make him nice and comfortable so he’ll never want a place on his own. LOL

After the floor, I need to build a couple of walls, and then insulate the ceiling, enclose said ceiling, and put in a few power receptacles. Then Viola! Instant Bedroom!

Now, all that being said, he is graduating from HVAC School with a 3.98 average and will have a good job when he gets here. AND, I love him as if he were my own son. So, no, I don’t mind this at all.

I’ll post the DONE pic when it’s finished. And Rivergirl? I’ll get back on that Dry Sink as soon as the crap is off of my workbench! LOL

This is where the new floor meets the laundry room. The angles are 60 degrees and I couldn’t cut them with my Chop Saw as they were way too wide. So I used my new Japanese Finish Saw.

If you don’t have one of these babies, go get one. The best $20 I ever spent! Straight, quick, and cuts on the draw, not the push. I love it! (It’s great for Dovetail joints as well. )

Okay, so I’ve now added some walls.

And I’ve put up some drywall and run some electric.

And I put an access door where the Chimney clean-out is.

Now, I’ll finish the rest of the drywall, tape, mud, and paint, and it will be ready for my step-son to move in on Saturday.
Wish me luck!

Sometimes you have to share your space.
