Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have a feeling I will be visiting here pretty often. I’m looking to get into the hobby of turning and I see a lot of real talent here. Right now I’m in the hospital and just waiting to get out of here to get my lathe and start putting some shavings on my floor. If anyone can recommend a good lathe, I would appreciate your input. I’m a paraplegic of 26 years now, so I need something that is convenient to get to everything that I need and will be comfortable working from my wheelchair. I’m looking at a few different models. Delta 46-460, Jet 1220 VS, or the Grizzly G0462. Right now I like the Delta more than the Jet because of the belt access in the front, and stronger motor. The Grizzly offers a rotating head stock(major convenience point), stronger motor, bigger height and length, digital tachometer, and cast iron stand. With shipping on the Grizzly, they are all right at the same price, which is also at the max of my spending limits.
Any input is appreciated.
