Hi! I was looking forward to spending more time crafting this year, but we were hit with a suffocating economy and our daughter’s medical costs. We had to relocate for various reasons, housing costs, job availability, health coverage, general survival and happiness…However, we had to give up a few things: Like the shop! And studio space! But, there are more important things in life and they all call me Mom.
I did finish my bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and my last class was a really relaxed 3-D design class which I had a lot of fun and got to work the wood everyday! I made several sculptures, all non-functioning art pieces (a requirement), which I will have to post at some point.
So now we’re in a more manageable place in life and starting to put things back in order…My husband (Oh yeah, we got married!) found work and I am doing the home-maker thing. Our dear little baby is better off at home than in daycare. I am tackling my writing career from home and going back to school so that I can eventually provide enough for my husband to pursue full-time woodworking. I will also never give up making things.
While this move has been a set-back, we are optimistic…Hey, it’s life!! And I hope to be posting more projects soon!
I also won a T-shirt for voting in the recent Lumber Jocks contests! Sweet! It’s nice to get something unexpected…Lots of great entries…Congrats to all the winners!

Congrats and I hope things work out for you guys. A lot of people are getting a rough ride these days, that is for sure.
I can’t think of anything better than laying down at night and waking up next to my wife. That is the best thing in life to me and I hope that this is the joy you two share.
