A Dream

I can’t even begin to explain how grateful I am for a widow that I have never met that dropped a box of tools on my front porch. Warms my soul to know that there are people out there that understand craftsmanship and want it to continue. I wrote a note of thanks for all to read at the shared link above.

The craftsperson that passed on would have wanted those tools to be used again and again. That is a great story.

That’s awesome Jarrett! A new son and a bunch of old steel… you should be on cloud 9! Great post and I’m sure the widow is appreciative of how grateful you truly are and that here husband would be glad to know that his treasure has become someone else’s. Especially someone who understands their true value and will put them to use rather than on a shelf or an auction site.

Wow, what a gift! ... Now, you need to use those tools to make a beautiful Keepsake box and return the favor to her.

Truly a blessing.

Thanks to all for all the kind words! Indeed I am on cloud nine and a gift for her is in the works…figured I’d give it a twist and try to design something that would encompass using almost all of his tools. The “push-Pull” tongue and groove plane has quickly become my favorite as I’m putting up tongue and groove ceiling board and it has allowed me to complete the rooms with all of the boards mating instead of the usual “center strip” run. It still amazes me that they are all in great working order…they will stay that way!
