Started woodworking as a kid. Mainly had a tree fort with a zip line (back when no one knew what a zip line was). My dad had a Shopsmith that I played around with. Nothing too serious. Always had an interest in woodworking but not until I was older did I do any construction or finer woodworking. Friends helped me with some construction projects and from there I learned to do some things on my own ... finishing a basement, building a playhouse, and some cabinets. I find it fun as I just like to create. Wood is just another medium, and a great one at that.
