I have been turning and carving wood for about 30 years, I started like most woodturners, first as a hobby, second by gifting my friends and family until they cried "Uncle", third doing the art and craft show route with tents and shelves and traveling, fourth doing gallery exibits and sales, and last renting space for my own gallery in downtown Ft. Pierce. I have taught basic woodturning at Indian River State College, and started a Woodturning guild here in St. Lucie County "Treasure Coast Woodturning Guild" of which I am the current President. Recently I have been lucky enough to have come across a huge amount of Indian Rosewood (Dalburgia Sissoo) that was grown locally and was being removed from several trailer parks. We have harvested about 160 of these trees and converted a good deal of it into filtch cut stickered lumber in various thicknesses. I am doing a little teaching on a one on one basis but devote most of my shop time to creating and making one of a kind turned and sculptured pieces. I have been exibited in AAW Symposium shows "Sea to Odessy" "Return to The Land of OZ" "Step up to the Plate" "Spirit of Southwest"
