Alright, so ive been interested in woodworking for a while. Ive made a few half assed pieces (mostly using dull tools on saw benches or the tailgate of my truck). But that was when I lived in Chicago and had no room for a shop. After more than a year of planning and job hunting we’ve finally gotten out of the city and moved to a small town in Michigan.

It took about a month to get the house together and start to build out the shed. Plenty of time plan the whole thing out in my head (and come up with enough project ideas to keep me busy for the next year or so. I spent 2+ weeks painting, hanging OSD and building some 2×4 benches on the walls and tuning my tools. I did was anxious to get it done so I didnt take any photos in the process, but wish I could show the hellish state this little shed was in before I started.

Theres still a lot of work to be done but im ready to start building my first bench. My next post will begin the documentation of my bench build.

You can see my (somewhat) finished shop

Glad to hear you made it out of the big city to a place where you could set up a workshop.
Sorry it had to be in Michigan. :) (I escaped in 1984)

But your link to the somewhat finished workshop doesn’t go anywhere, it just says http:// is like the front page for the entire internet…

edit: I see you fixed the link…
