« Part 1: So we want to get a bigger TV Part 2 of Quest for a bigger TV series Part 3: The Plan »

Dad Said he wanted a bigger TV and to do so required a bigger Entertainment Center. He really liked the style of the one he had, but just wanted it bigger. So around Christmas of 09, when the picture was taken, we looked at what he had and what it would take to build a bigger one.

We also had to evaluate the tool situation. Now I already had the Ridgid Trio from Dad’s in my Garage. The Table Saw, the Jointer and the Surface Planer. The only saw blades I had were the 40t that comes the the saw, a descent blade, and an OLD Oshlun data blade set. When I say old I mean like early 80s old and not carbide, just steel. I picked up a 24t rip blade for some other things I was working on at the time. Dad on the other hand went all out. He got a new 8” stacked data set and an 80t blade both from Freud. He also picked up the $100 pocket hole jig set from Kraig. We did a bunch of cabinets from my garage around this time as well for the practice of leading up to this entertainment center.

All the while working on the plans for this new unit.

Next up with be the start of the plans…....

The old one is nice, I am curious to see what replaces it.
