Rushing home from work, rushing through dinner, rushing all the kids to my parents house, and my wife going to a friends house for a ladies night…..the stage was set….
I entered my shop about 8:00, knowing with a 4:00am wake uu that my time was limited. I started on the cherry I had started Friday, but it popped out of the 1/2 chuck that was holding it….guess that wont work after all. :-S. I took my little electric chainsaw and trimmed up a piece of the sassafras. The heartwood was rotting, so I decided to turn the whole log on edge. Im happy with the results. Not the best Ive ever done, but definite symbolic signifigance. This is the first bowl I have made since moving to my current house, first bowl since my son was born, first bowl since my big career change….I am BACK!!!!!
I did realize that I need to get my lighting up to snuff….and I need to retune alot of my old tools. I also need to work on the general organization of my turning area. I will be posting pics of the shop soon. This one piece should be the crack in the dyke wall. Hopefully the work will start pouring out as it once did!

Sounds like you’re back in action in the shop! An interesting bowl.
