Aphgan Display case

Mother asked for a case she could display and store her crochet work in. Built this display case. Made out of oak, lined with cedar veneer, top, back and bottom. The sides and front of the case are 1/4” lexan in a routed groove except for the top which just rests in a slot. I wanted to make it easy to get it out in case of damage. Half lap joints on the rails and biscuits on the corners.

Puzzle Table

An aunt of mine requested a table that spins so that she could do her puzzles on them. She was tired of moving and stretching around the table to get at pieces so it needed to spin to her.

The original idea had a different leg design but I changed it near the end so that the square theme was continued from the top to the base to the foot. It also made the piece look a lot cleaner than it would have with four pieces sticking out at the bottom. It is still very stable even when you lean on it.

The top and foot are made of oak while the base is pine and ply. The top is laquered for a harder finish and the puzzle pieces slide easier on it.

1st Cradle

Have some great friends who had their first child and decided to give them something they could keep after he was to big for it. The rockers come off and it can be used as a magazine rack or put back on if another little one should show up. Upon completion I thought I could have added some type of detail to the front and back as well as the rockers. That might have been a little beyond my skills at the time however. Built out of white oak so its a little heavy but it sure will last.
