I would like to find the plans for an Adirondack chair. Does anyone know where to find them? And what kinds of wood to use?
Thanks

I just searched the internet for pictures and then drew up my own plans. There are a lot of LJ’s that have made them and they might have plans on their sites. Keep searching around and you’ll find plenty.
As for the wood, I have used pine for the most part. Its not expensive to buy and stains real easy.

I’ve used the free Jake’s Chair plans and have been very happy with the 10+ chairs I’ve made. Just Google Jake’s Chair or the amended version.

Wood selections might include cedar, cypress, redwood and pressure treated pine. Your choice will probably be influenced by where you live, as prices will vary widely from one part of the country to another. The more milling you are able to do yourself, the cheaper it will usually be.
Hint: Make more than you think you need. They have a weird habit of growing legs and walking themselves to the neighbors’ yards.
