89 posts in 1216 days Location: Los Angeles I am a structural design engineer in my mid 30s. I have been working with wood on and off ever since I can remember. My parents were always doing something around the house and when I was old enough to use tools they realized that I was cheap labor. My mom used to watch "This Old House", so I instantly became a fan of Norm's and have been for over 20 years now. I have made a few pieces of furniture which were very successful but I have stayed away from any real fun projects and I have limited myself to pine because I felt that I didn't have the precision I wanted due to a lack of a table saw. Also because the last real project I did was an entertainment center that I built on my kitchen table in a 1 bedroom apartment. Needless to say that is the last time I use a belt sander to flatten a glued up panel indoors. That all changed over the 2009 holidays when I picked up a used table saw on craigslist and caught the bug to start building again. It also helps that I now live in a place with a 2 car garage and live with a wonderful woman to loves it when I build furniture. -- Good Judgement Comes From Experience.
