« Part 1: Floating Shelf Construction Part 2 of Floating Shelves Episode 2 series no next part

The 2nd show in the series for floating shelves. I hope that everyone enjoys it, and I continue my struggles with this darn illness.

Not sure of this is how to do this or not.

Having done alot of veneer work myself, anyone watching this video and wanting to try their hand at veneer should use caution with contact cement and raw wood veneer. It can/will telegraph through some species of open grain wood and ruin a finish. In your video, it looks to me like you are using a paperbacked or two ply, I didn’t hear you mention anything about it. Also, solvent based contact cement melts foam. That is why your brush is getting larger and larger as you apply the cement over the substrate.

Not trying to be an ass, I enjoyed the video. Just trying to keep someone from getting discouraged trying something new.

-- It's only wood.

Have your say...
