no previous part Part 1 of wall mounted bench flip tops series Part 2: 98% final »

what I am looking to require in my 2car garage shop:

1.) smartly spaced wood working equipment with ample room while allowing easy access for 1 car to park for auto-mechanic work.
2.) consecutive in-line even-level mitre saw table, jointer table, drill press, eze lap/grinder sharpening station, planer table, router table that can be flipped up-side down out of the way when needed.
2.) easy to sweep and clean.
3.) little headache when it comes time to decide to seal my cement flooring.

I spent a good couple weeks on paper sketching out what equipment goes where, while considering future dust collection routes, french cleat cabinets and lighting. Then, used sketchup to really visualize and fine tune some measurements and ideas. I have a couple more ideas (a “floating” 4’ outfeed table on rails to be used on mitre saw and planer). I also have to really decide to retain my Bosch router table or make my own and how to reconfigure the jointer motor to make a smaller footprint for a fliptop.

this is by no means a final product. i’ll probably rip it all down and restart to make it more… efficient with the ideas that i feel must be included (seems i have a new idea every 7 days that delays things).

A very interesting Concept.

Could be Great solution for our LJ friends with limited floor space and a plus for that extra staging/assembly area space in my own Shop.

I’ll be on board for your Journey.
