I won a Capspray CS9100 4 turbine HVLP sprayer at an auction for $100. It’s now time to see if I can clean this up and rehab. It does turn on and blow air but looks like it has seen serious use. There is not much out there when it comes to the HVLP unit itself for rehab’ing, but tons for gun cleaning. So first thing I’ll tackle is tearing down the gun and rebuilding it. From my research, most CS9100’s came with a Maxum II gun with a hook uptop of the trigger. This gun does not have the hook uptop and also to have a “green” metal color base instead of pure aluminum look.
I know I’m in for a struggle because of the caked on finishes on the outside of the gun and hvlp unit, I can not even get the cup off. Unsure if it screws off or just simply falls off when unlatched.

took a brass wire wheel to the cup after I finally got it off. Caked on duct tape and green paint! The inside looks better but found 2 pin holes in the cup. Wonder if I can use simple solder.
