Olmsted Falls, OH 44138
United States

I live in an 1854 Bungalow century home in Olmsted Falls Ohio. Unfortunately that limits what I can do since it is a historic district. So no nice out building for a shop. Instead I have a basement which I have maximized for working on projects.

I own 2 Shop Smiths, one from the mid 80 which was my grandfathers, and one purchased used which is the 50th anniversary edition which I believe is from 2002. It had less than 3 hours work on it. With the Shopsmith comes the lathe, drill press, lathe duplicator, jointer, band saw, belt sander, scroll saw, and table saw.

I also have a 12 inch planer, 10 in compound miter saw (dewalt), Fein multimaster, mini lathe, router, and too many hand tools for fixing up the house to name.

I have the majority of the tools to do what I need. Now to just assemble some really nice hand tools such as wood planes, etc.

Haunted;

Welcome. I share you thoughts when it comes to living in a historical district. We’re in a 1850 Gothic revival. It can be a blessing and a curse. I’m fortunate enough to be able to have my shop in another town which allows me to accommodate the need for dust, chips and machinery, but we all adapt.

You will enjoy this group, very nice and knowledgeable people.

Hey welcome on board. Nice to hear there is someone on LJ that lives in northern Ohio. I’m in God’s snow country, Chardon. Looking forward to our work.

Welcome to Lumberjocks. It sounds like you have a nice shop.

That is the set of hand tools I need Charles :) I have all the tools to fix up my home, just not the hand tools that are specific to woodworking craft. So many to collect….

Have your say...
