Although the shop is not organized yet, I have all the essentials. I’m a huge fan of Norm Abrams, and try to watch all his shows on Saturday. I’m looking forward to retirement in another year, then I can spend many hours building!
I will have to plan my workshop carefully, so as to take advantage of a Oneida dust control system I will soon be ordering. I’m probably going to use 6” pipe for better vacuum of material.

Paul, you have a nice shop in which to work. It looks like it is well organized and it is nice to see some new tools going in there. It does look like you have plenty of space in which to work. That is a nice jointer you selected. I am a big fan of Powermatic tools. By the way I was really surprised to see a Powermatic dryer in there. I don’t think I have seen one of those before. :)

You have a real nice work space and I would enjoy working in there.

Thanks for the post. I enjoyed visiting with you.

Nice shop, and wow have you been busy buying. Nice choices in equipment.

Thanks for the compliments! I still have to O R G A N I Z E !! At least I have all the power tools on mobile bases; except for my new Delta floor drill press. I am thinking of buying an Oneida V System 3 HP cyclone dust system, but that might be overkill. Perhaps something smaller; otherwise there would be no need for portability of all those tools. I’ll update my photos as I make progress.

I did forget to add something in my last post. I would highly recommend anyone who can afford it to buy a cabinet or hybrid table saw for dust control. I’m going to have to retrofit mine to try to get a hold on the dust, and make it look presentable. Being a toolmaker, that should be no big deal.

This is a nice shop. Looks like you have a little more room than I do.

Hello all LJ members and friends!
I’ve since upgraded some of my tools; an 8” Grizzly jointer with helical cutter head, a Grizzly cabinet table saw,and a buddy of mine built me a lumber rack. I’m in the process of building 2 Hepplewhite tables (with my friends’ professional tutelage)....I’ll send photos and update my shop pics soon.
Thanks for the compliments!

HSD – Nice you can still ride. Joints won’t let me do it anymore. My wife and I are both originally from Warwick but after 31 years in the Navy, we settled in Gulf Breeze, FL. My 2-car garage is all mine after I back the car out. Like you, all my gear is on wheels. I combined the table saw and router table in/on a box which also provided dust collection that I had not thought about at the time. I hope you enjoy making sawdust, keep all your fingers and thanks for posting.

Hello all….Merry Christmas & Happy New Year !
It’s great to have so many great people here on LJ…and it keeps me connected. I’m just getting into a new project..l’m building an Intaglio etching press….and it’s not wood ! Mostly steel and 6061-T6 (aircraft aluminum) for many of the parts. Also lots of big bearings, bolts, steel plates and too many parts to list. I’m still building furniture…my latest is Stickley style Mission furniture. White quarter sawn oak…as is the gold standard in this historic style. Oh…I did buy another piece of equipment; a metal cutting milling machine. Should be here before the end of the year. Perhaps I can make some parts out of wood…handles on the press and of course the bench on which it rests. Again, thanks to all you great people I have shared my passion, (and yours) and will be looking at each site to see your work and tools.
