Hey everyone its been a while since I have posted projects. I made this for my secret santa this year. She is a huge fan of Eeyore. This box is made from purpleheart and maple with spalted maple mitered keys. The Eeyore character is just a photo that is wood glued onto the box top and covered with several coats of satin topcoat. Well I have to go repair a cats broken jaw for christmas.

I made this table for my father under a time crunch for fathers day. I was in such a hurry to get it to him I forgot to take photos. I had him take a few pics for me. The joinery is mortise and tenon, biscuit, and a few dowels. The wood selection includes: White oak, purpleheart, White maple, and cedar lined drawers.

Purpleheart and Canarywood Bench

I created this bench to see how the two woods Canary and Purpleheart complimented each other. I mitererd the purpleheart frame around the canary wood top. I sanded to 220 with a random orbital sander then finished it with General Finishes Arm-R-Seal Semi Gloss. I have created small decorative boxes using this combination and really like the final results. The canary wood does seem to darken over time so in the future I will try some U.V. resistant finishes in the future so I can maintain the purple and gold look.
