Well everyone…

I don’t know if this has ever happen to you or not… And of course this is the first time it’s happened to me… And I have no clue why.

I’ve just tried logging into my Workshop Blog to Post some Articles from Finewoodworking.com about Spalting Wood, which I’ve tried lastnight as well, and it would not take my password. Of course this was on my iPhone cause I got lazy lol.

So I’m sitting at my Table as we speak trying to figure out why I can’t log into my Workshop Blog. Well I input the right password. I get (Your Account Has Been Disabled) and a (?) Beside that in Red giving me the Idea to click it to see what may be the problem.

So I click the Red (?) and it takes me to the Terms of Service Page of Google. Well I’m not quite understanding why I took me there, cause as to my Knowledge I have not broken the ToS at all.

So I have no clue what to do, I can’t post my Weekly Blog entries from Woodsmith Tips or even share Articals I’ve found that may be of some use to others.

Well what I’m thinking is Looking into getting my Own Domain Hosted maybe by Yahoo so I don’t have to deal with Blogger anymore… Work more along the lines with Wordpress or something of the likes and build my workshop up that was to the full capacity with pictures and a store and the likes.

Any thoughts on this matter would be greatful, it can help shine some light on the subject.

Well I figured it out… Apparently there have been repeated attempts to log into my account, so I had to change my password in order to log into my email, and once that was done, i was able to log into my blog.

So all is well, but I’m still thinking about my Own Domain where I have a little more Flexability.

Well, having your own domain gives you more flexibility, but it also means you have to handle all the ugly little details a blog host normally handles for you. Kinda like living in your own house versus living in an apartment, it’s a trade off.

Derek,

Very true. And let me tell you, I’ve lived in Handicapped Appartments for several years and grew to hate them ALOT, there was no change, things were the same, I couldn’t take our or modify anything.

And since I started buying my House, I like the Versitaly of owning, not really the expenses lol, but the ability of taking out and putting in or just modifying things.

So I think that the Flexibility of a Domain, giving me the ability to do what I want, the content I want, the lay out I want will be better.

Not to mention I have a little background in HTML so Most things can be done by me to a Degree and may have to learn the rest or figure it out, since I got several years in computers, shouldn’t be too difficult.

Bob: how would that work?

Jim: thanks I’m happy about it myself I was hoping I didn’t do anything wrong. Don’t get me wrong I do like blogger but I’ve always wanted a domain myself but never rePly checked into it that much.

And ancestry money is a little tight right now I will have to stay with google blogger which is ok cause it’s not too bad.

well im guessing you have not owned a domain before, basicly ud get a domain from somewhere like godaddy and buy a domain, www.whateveriwantittobe.com usually about 10 bux a year or less and then i would host everything for you, basicly meaning youd have a space on the internet for anything u wanted to do, whether it be a site, blog, just to backup files or whatever
i just happen to have alot of extra space on mine and wouldnt mine losing part of the bill..;)
altho ill have to admit i have never done any blogging ive only done websites and game servers so i wouldnt know everything but id do what i can if im needed to
but regardless its an option for you to ponder anyways

Jim, if you are looking for a host, I cannot recommend Dreamhost highly enough. I’ve been with them for over ten years.
