My shop is in the back of a two car detached garage. I put a 10×17 foot addition going out the back on one half in 2009 for more shop space. And to be able to add a Lathe. We still park our two cars in there, but for bigger projects it’s no problem to just leave the cars out and take over that space.

In the winter I have two infra-red heaters that keep it usable, and they’ll take all the snow and ice off the cars.

I like having a front and back door, especially in the warm part of the year. As you can see I got that new lathe and set it up right by the back sliding door.

This is a nice shop that you have to work in. It looks like you have ample room to maneuver around in there and, between the window and the open door, you get quite a bit of natural light in your shop.

You have a nice set of tools to play with. A lathe is high on my list. With the turnings that have been posted here I can see I am missing out on a lot of fun by not having one.

Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed visiting your shop.

Nice looking shop, I like the idea of the addition to create a little more space.

Hey Ham,
Nicely layed-out shop with some sweet toys and in a cool setting…well done.

I like seeing others who use a sliding door. I love mine.

Hi Tom,

I went and checked out your website and all the shop pictures too, what a great shop you have. I’d love to have AC too! I’m happy to have heat in my shop for the Wisconsin winters. I think you really do have a dream shop there.

Take care,

Tom
