How about a new 'Forum' - 36 replies What do you LumberJocks think about starting a new ‘Forum’ for those that are first starting out in woodworking? It might be called ‘Woodworking 101’. When I welcome new members, it seems that a lot of them say that they are just starting woodworking and want to learn more. The first thought that comes to mind is safety, ... |

New member adds - 22 replies I like to welcome new members. I do not welcome all new members, just the ones that I think are real woodworkers. I want to apologize to those real woodworkers that live in the New York area. I have found that 90% of the time, when I see ‘New York’ or ‘usa’ under their name, they have become members just to sell their pro... |

What is the purpose of showing the number of post that each member makes? - 106 replies I like to welcome new members, and each time I do, it adds to my number of post, which is now over 4000. To some this might look like I am a very active member making all of these great comments. If possible, I would like the number of post not shown for me. What do you other LumberJocks think, keep showing the post or do away with it? Or what? |

Over 800 new members in 3 days - 15 replies I like to welcome new members to LumberJocks. I enjoy reading what they have to say. In the three days that this site has been reopened to new members there has been over 800 new members. This is great, but I find that I am spending more time welcoming new members and less time checking on what is going on with everything else on LumberJocks. So... |

Who Do You Welcome As A New Member? - 15 replies I like to welcome new members. Lately there has been a few new members that do not care about woodworking, but only want to push their product or non-woodworking business. So now, when I view the new member list, if there is not a picture, or comment about themselves I do not make a welcome. I know that I am going to miss a few that just want to... |

Need advise on a project - 3 replies The Senior Center, where I go to play pool, have 30 or 40 pool cues. What is a RFID? - 9 replies I recently read a very interesting article on Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) tags. RFID’s are fast becoming a means of identifying just about any material object. You probably have been using them. They are used on pet ID tags or under their skin, on EZPass through a toll booth, paying for gas, tagging flight bags, used to track shipping ... |

Bad Comments - 2 replies As LumberJocks grows larger world wide and becomes well known there will be some people that will want to come in and show off how stupid they are. When that happens what they want is comments back. Don’t do it, don’t waste your time. Just send a note to Martin, http://lumberjocks.com to stop it before it grows. |
