Location: Stockholm, Sweden
Now a senior in my early 70ies, a Norwegian citizen based in Stockholm Sweden. I studied architecture with a focus on urban development and have been working in, and teaching my profession until quite recently. At present, however, I am trying to build a small workshop at my summer house in the archipelago. I am set upon learning to build things first of all with wood, but also with other natural natural materials like leather, canvas and rope. I have been deeply inspired by Christopher Schwartz "An anarchist's tool chest" and have a project plan inspired by this. I have also with much profit studied Paul Seller's fine videos on youtube and stumbled upon this network through a link to one of Mafe's blogs on Japanese tool-chests. (thank you!)
I have a deep passion for the sea and the building, care and sailing of (preferably) wooden boats. I am also a voluntary crew member on the (wooden) brig "Tre kronor" of Stockholm, and in the winter member of the rigging tem to prepare her for the next season. I would like to become a competent ships carpenter and rigger.
I am also deeply involved with reading all kinds of literature that relates to this new profession over the whole spectrum from philosophy to fiction. I hope to make some friends here not only by taking but also through giving.
