I was at the Canberra ‘Working with Wood’ show last weekend & was talking to one of the wood turners, I think he was with the ACT Woodcraft Guild. He was turning a pen & had a great finish on it. I asked him about the finish & it was simply linseed oil & super glue. That got me interested so I did a little websearching & found this Utube video on how it’s done.

I use a BLO/CA finish on my pens. I’ve been carrying around that last segmented pen I made and haven’t noticed any change really in the finish. I’m really happy with how it comes out.

the process I learned from can be found here. click the “video #2” link when you get there.

good to hear from you grumpy…good finish for a pen…for my vases and bowls I prefer a lacquer finish that dries fast and can be buffed and polished in the same day…getting ready for a show of my ringmaster vases etc..have 80 pieces sitting on our dinning room table ready to be priced etc…I’,m in a small town in the western mountains of north carolina…this show just outside the town brings in 23,000 in two days!!!! will send you pictures of what getting ready for this show looks like…...............................total whatever!!! kineo
