This turner not only knows his trade but is very quick about it.
Too bad about the amount of waste but not much choice there.
I like the use of the chainsaw.

I wonder how it held up to drying?
That chainsaw part was cool !

Thanks, Tony. I have often wanted to make a lampshade and this just inspired me. That is one strong dude to hoist up that big log. I may have to do that for lamp I have had laying around needing a shade! I wonder if you have to wrap something around it until it drys to hold the round shape??

Looks like a tool to make kindling for your fireplace.

But a cool looking lamp shade.

wow! that was a nice project.

a stout guy lifting this log in a manner that seems so ‘easy’.

that said though, I think this is one of those cases where using a solid blank may not be the best economical choice- veneer might be more like it – but then again, sometimes it’s not only about economics. pretty cool though
