Yesterday I got of a cruise ship at Port Douglas in tropical North Eastern Australia.
At a market was a very friendly expat from Texas. He had to be friendly because he is a woodie & a fine one at that.
This guy makes fine sculptured furniture and was selling it at the local Sunday market.
I got talking to him about the different species of wood in the North and found out a lot of his furniture was made from ‘Mango Wood’, you know that great fruit that is grown in the tropics.
Anyway out the the blue he very kindly gave me a piece of this ‘Mango Wood’ to try as I had not come across it before.
So in recognition of this friendly gesture I thought I would give him a plug on Lumberjocks.
his name is Aden McLeod and his web site is;
Many thanks Aden and good luck with the sales.

Grumpy: I’ve got a few pieces of Mango that I traded to a guy in Hawaii. I traded some Eastern USA hardwoods for it.

It’s got a cool pattern and turns nice.Have .
