Great New Design for Incra Router Plate Inserts

Great New Design for Incra Router Plate Inserts

255 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 9 comments »

I have an Incra master Lift II and it has the magnetic insert plates that are the best thing since sliced bread…but now that sliced bread has become even tastier with the new Incra Clean Sweep Inserts. I bough a set of these last week because I like the idea of them eliminating most of the dust and chips that always occur with pretty much all router plates…sure seemed like a good design idea when I looked at their video. So, I bought a set and used them in my router table a...

Great dust mask

Great dust mask

1370 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 12 comments »

All I can say is this is one great dust hood. I have used numerous dust masks over the years from the basic cheap disposable masks, the replacable cartridge masks and now this air shield pro dust hood. I do alot of grinding and sanding and have been making more dust than ever lately. The air shield pro is a unit that keeps the dust out of my lungs most importantly…but it also is effective in that no dust gets in my eyes… no more burning watering eyes due to dust.Reviews of earlier ...

Wixie for The Griz

Wixie for The Griz

1470 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 1 comment »

I recently bought a wixey digital/fractional readout for my big old floor model planer. These are supposed to be for a desktop planer but I have seen others adapt them to fit a floor model planer. I have several other wixey products and have been quite happy with them so I decided to make one adaptable to my Grizzly 15” planer. I used a 2” wide piece of aluminum flat bar and a piece of 1 1/2” aluminum angle iron… and after a little trial and error of lining up the l...

Self Cleaning Blast Gates

Self Cleaning Blast Gates

1523 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 8 comments »

I have tried numerous blast gates, metal and plastic. These from Lee Valley are the best I have found and they never clog because of the way the gate pushes any possible clog out when the gate is open and closed. I have been using them for 2 years without a clog. They do not come with the knobs…I added them for ease of use. when remodeling my kitchen last september I saved all the knobs from my old cabinets with the intention of re-using them on the new cabinets. I was outvoted by my w...

Great Idea For Sandpaper Storage

Great Idea For Sandpaper Storage

1525 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 18 comments »

Sandpaper is always a pain to store and organize. I previously had built a bulky and definitely not portable storage rack for my sandpaper. I saw this plastic file folder yesteday while in office Depot and a flourescent light bulb went off…but that’s a different story. For $10 this was a perfect solution for storing my sandpaper and making it easy to carry around to wherever I needed sandpaper. I addition to the 9×11” sheets I bought it for I can also put round orbital ...

 Incra TS-LS Table saw fence

Incra TS-LS Table saw fence

1596 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 12 comments »

I have been reading about the Incra Table Saw fence for a while now and finally decided to bite the bullet (or bite the wallet) and buy one. All that I can say is that this fence lives up to all the expectations I have of it. This gave me the opportunity to do a fine tuning of my Grizzly saw and adjust everything that could possibly be fine tuned before installing the Incra fence system. The setup was easy and fast with the well written instructions. Easy to install and easy to adjust. I spe...

New toy for my shop

New toy for my shop

1625 days ago by Greg The Cajun Box Sculptor | 14 comments »

I just got my new Jet sander delivered a couple of days ago (Tuesday). It comes in three boxes, two are managable…the one containing the stand and the box containing the feed table/conveyor and feed motor. The third box contains the motor unit and drum…it weighs somewhere between 70,000 & 75,000 pounds (or so it felt like) when I had to unpack it and set it up by myself.A friend said he would come help me set it up this weekend but I was way too impatient to watch the sander j...
