Table Almost finished...this has been more fun than a monkey barrel...
I am almost finished this table. The Zebrawood top is 73”x 39” and the rails are Padauk with Zebrawood Legs. I did not want the legs to be in contact with the floor so for protection I added some of those super glide disks to the bottom after recessing them in about 1/4”. Finishing: I initially rubbed in a coat of teak oil to highlight the grains.The top and the legs/rails are in the process getting their 5th coat of hand rubbed varnish with an expected 10 coats altogether. My process is to sand in between each coat with 400 grit paper…progress to 600 grit after coat #8… and sand the final coat with 1200 grit and apply wax… I found it much easier t...
