Thanks for the kind welcomes, hope to have something to post soon. I am in the process of deciding on what project to start with and hope it is worthy for display.

Hi there,
Welcome to LumberJocks… I joined the site myself a little over a year ago and will give you fair warning, this site is VERY ADDICTIVE, VERY EDUCATIONAL, and VERY FUN…. so sit back, enjoy the ride and learn from the other LJ’s as they are a group of extremely talented people that are also very friendly…

Enjoy your time here on LJ and pass the word to any of your woodworking buddies about us…

Once again I want to thank you all for the kind welcomes. I have always had an love of woodworking and dabble in various forms whenever the chance arose, but unfortunately I have nothing to show for it because someone would catch a glimpse while I was working on it, say they liked it and I would give it to them when I was finished. Most of this was walking sticks that I would carve while on maneuvers during my 21 year stint in the military.

Now I am trying my hand at fine woodworking, I am taking a class at the nearby vocational school that allows me the use of and gain knowledge of various woodworking tools and machinery. We also have the opportunity to create a project during class and I’m attempting to make a Hope Chest for my daughters graduation from high school. It will consist of a walnut base w/ cedar panels and floor. Can’t wait to see what fellow LJ’s have to say about it when complete. Again thanks for the kind words.
