I've been a Mechanical Engineer (go Akron Zips) for 15 years now...As my career has taken me away from manufacturing, woodworking has filled the void quite nicely. Wood is much easier to machine than the metals that I worked with anyways (and the tolerances are much more forgiving :). I've been a DIY'er for the last 10 years or so, but got into woodworking early last year...so still a novice, but have had some good results since starting.
I'm always looking for tips and am always willing to share any lessons learned.
