no previous part Part 1 of Christmas Gift workshop series Part 2: Today's progress »

I am in the middle of doing something I’ve wanted to do for years – make all of the Christmas gifts I give this year. There is a long list of people I’d like to give gifts too but mostly I am trying to make something for each of the grandkids (8 in all). So far I’ve completed gifts for 3 of the kids and am starting on the 4th kid gift. I’ve got about 10 adults on my list but some might end up getting a picture of what I am building them.

Mostly I am doing small things that I can cut out on the scroll saw but even that is time consuming.

Today I had a good day and completed one project and made progress on three others.

But I don’t know if my body is going to let me keep up with my plans. Today I’ve been having some tendinitis in my elbow and even with my brace I’ve had to cut back on how much I am doing at the scroll saw.

Well, I have had this before and know the drill – rest, brace, ice and some advil. I know if I called the doctor she’d just say, “Rest is the best thing.” But I can’t rest it – I’ve got gifts to make.

sigh…

Well in my next post I’ll have some project pictures.

Gettin’ old aint fer sisies. lol
I know how you feel. I spent a couple of hours with an adze yesterday afternoon carving a bowl, and I don’t know if I’ll be able to continue that today. I think my shoulder rotator cuff needs replacing.
But you’re right.
There are Christmas presents to build.

Home made gifts are the best! I hope you can accomplish all that you set out to do. I look forward to photos of what you’ve made.
