Here are a pair of clocks I made last year.
Most people would say that I’m a little bit different…......................I’d agree.

Would you like to see one of these clocks being made, if so, follow the link to a 4 part series on Blip TV…. http://gordgraff.blip.tv/posts?view=archive&nsfw=dc

Hi All,

Not all of my work is off the deep end, every once in awhile I like to do something normal.
This spalted beech and padauk box which I made from scraps laying around the shop holds the wicks for my oil burning lamps.

I guess I could have put the wicks somewhere else but hey….....................................I’m a woodworker.

Zebrawood, Wenge and Maple Clock

Hi All,

As a woodworker, what other way would I express my gratitude for someone who is always there for me other than expressing my thanks in wood.

I recently built this wall clock for my car mechanic and dear friend for no other reason except to say thanks for all you do for my wife and I.

The clock is @ 24” tall and is made from zebrawood, wenge and maple; he tells me that he and his wife like it. Thanks Derek for always being there for me.

I built this table out of yelllowheart and purpleheart and it now resides in the hallway of our home.
Yes it’s a little bit different but then, so am I. It’s 11 1/2” wide X 42” long and finished with three coats of oil based poly.

A rather strange retirement gift...

Howdy,

Although I’ve worked as a woodworker in traditional design for many years, I now find my designs have taken a turn, as this retirement clock for a friend shows.

The aluminium base is made from the off-cut of a machine shop’s plasma cutter and measures a full 1” thick X 15” long X 6” tall. The wenge clock face was cut from a 12”X12” blank and is suspended above the aluminium base by two 3/8” aluminium rods.

The whole piece measures 15” wide X 19” tall…………………………strange that you would give a guy a clock for his retirement when his life now isn’t governed by one.

Curly Maple Wall Clock

Hi All,

Like most woodworkers, I drawn to traditional projects like this curly maple wall clock that now hangs in my kitchen. It’s a simple design but I got real lucky when I found the material completely by accident when shopping for some wormy maple.

Born Again oak tables.

Hi All,

A couple of years ago a friend of mine, Peter, came to me with a bunch of oak that had a wonderful history.
The story goes that a family member was in the wine making business and had got a 10’ tall 20’ diameter cask that was made in Europe in the 1920’s. The wood sat around for decades until it reached Peter’s hands. He in turn had made flooring out of it for several rooms of his home and offered me some of it. When I first saw it, the material didn’t look promising but with a little bit of hard work the results speak for themselves.
