I had the opportunity to stop in today and meet Paul Lemiski, at Candian Woodworks. For those of you living in a remote area without internet access, and have never heard of Paul or seen his work.. he is a one man shop in Acton, Ontario, Canada that builds beautiful Maloof inspired sculpted tables and chairs. His shop is in a nice country setting, with a miniature donkey farm as a backdrop, and I think my wife loved the visit almost as much as I did. To summarize Pauls work, would be to say, take Sam Maloof, Hal Taylor, and a bit of Scott Morrison’s, and mix them all up in a bag, and out of it you would get Paul. He credits his skills to being self taught through reading and watching everything he can find on Maloof, as well as pointers and discussions with Hal Taylor. He has a few projects on the go, and was good enough to give me a tour of his shop. For those of you that are fans of Pauls work, watch closely, as the near future has him working on making some instructional DVD’s on his own designs. Today I had the honor of not only meeting him, but also being his first customer. I left with a set of templates for his sculpted coffee table. I hope I can do him proud and build one almost as nice as his. Paul, thanks for the visit, and the templates. Looking forward to seeing so much more.

Hi there. I got your connection when I looked up reviews for the King, KC-3105c dust collector. Have you or are you using one of these collectors? I have one and I feel too much dust is getting through the upper bag. The first time I used this collector was when I was sanding a floor….maybe too much dust at one time. Can I wash the upper bag or do you think I need to replace it?
Have your say...
