Made completely by memory of my youth. Added some improvisions. Hoping my son gets plenty of enjoyment.

Built this to save me from lugging tools back a forth from the truck 20 times before even starting to work. Shew, ya’ll done already tired when you finish dat. One plug and everything’s hot. Table saw w/ 52” fence, compressor w/ retractable reel hose, battery chargers, electric pencil sharpener and 10 outlets for power tools and even has a custom truck tarp made for it when traveling through the rain.

This Cedar Chest has been in the family for 102 yrs. It was wasting away in my dads garage for 15 yrs. The weather here in South Louisiana is ruff. My parents wanted me to refinish it. It’s now nice enough to be used and has a place in the house. Walnut veneer covers the outside along w/ pine vents on either side of the drawers. Cedar lined and poly finish. I did all the work by hand. (no power) To me it looks like it’s back from the grave.

Shadow box of Walnut. A little marketry on the edge and center. Daddo and half lap divider joints. Size is 20” x 12” x 1-1/2”

Mom wanted a frame to match the pic she painted. Green, she said. I wasn’t sure but it seems to work. I mitered the joints. It’s made of Oak. It’s stained and clear coated w/ min-wax.

Same stile as the first but these two have double dove tails. Made of Spalted Maple / american and Wenge / Zaire AFRICA. They are finished w/ Clear Lacquer and have a tray thumb pull. Polished w/ 3M ultra fine compound. One of the boxes is 5-1/2×8 and the other 4-1/2×8.

Wife saw this chest on-line and wanted me to buy it ( $1499.00 ). I made it instead ( under $400.00 ).
