If you dread the finishing part of a project as I used to, perhaps I can persuade you to give this mix/technique a try.
The idea of using an oil combined with a film forming finish is not new; this is simply the one I have settled on after experimenting with a number of different products.
An ideal finish should be easy to apply, enhance the grain and figure of the wood and provide a reasonable level of protection from normal wear and tear.

I’ve recently begun to move on with building a traditional wooden yacht tender. Boatbuilding has always been fascinating to me as a type of woodworking and I’d like a new boat for next year. Here is what I basically do with my Decal pens. As you can see I use Testors Decal paper. This can be found at Hobby stores. I purchased mine at “Hobby Lobby.”
Just follow the directions for printing out your logo, name…etc. One thing I have found using this material is that you MUST use a light colored blank for the background. This is transparent film, but the inkjet inks are not solid enough for darker colors. That type of decal must be purchased through professional m...

Many excellent woodworking videos. I stumbled on this link for this site on Reddit.com, from a posted link on creating a solar furnace from coke cans (that garage gets cold in the winter).

This intricate project is a veneered, inlaid, banded, and beaded set consisting of a coffee table and two end tables. The visible woods are curly maple, boire, Peruvian walnut, anigre, figured anigre, and wenge.
The secondary woods are mahogany and poplar.

I’ve been fiddling with wooden hinges, and can’t get good dowel stock. Epecially dowel stock that matches the species of wood I’m working with. I gleaned this jig from another Rob Cosman video.
I took a 2” piece of walnut from the scrap pile. I drilled a 1/4” (0.247” actually) hole in it close to one face. I took a few passes through the drum sander to just show the hole cut. I chamfered one end to accept the workpiece stock. I clamped an old plane...
