Well, this all started 10 years ago. I started my first musical instrument and ended up getting in way over my head. My ego, knowing no bounds, thought if I was going to put so much time into a project it may as well be the best. Well, to make a long story short, my ego got the best of me and I gave up after about 6 months of work. Way over my head! Part 2: I begin again!

Well, after a 10 year hiatus, I am back at work on my harpsichord. This is where I ended work and where I started again. Viewed from the underside. Notice the Fixed lower register. The part with all the holes. .Here it is with the stand, lid, and a fresh coat of paint. There will be a piece of wood called the “Fallboard” to enclose it entirely...Here is the completed keyboard. Part 3: Final entry and the surprise!

Well, this is it. After 10 years it’s finally done. As promised here are the keyboards out of the instrument .. Here you can see that the upper keyboard has been moved. It just sits on the lower by gravity... And here is the surprise. Solenoids under the key ends to turn this into a player harpsichord! .. I got a used Pianodisc player on Ebay. It was taken off of a piano that was being upgraded. I can use the supplied controller or hook up my computer and play it with MIDI. ...
