I’ll move this to a more suitable topic. I had been looking for a Christmas Project. An easy one for th gift exchange at my office, my mailman, barber, some friends and relatives. I decided on one that I found at Woodwhisperer it only requires 3 parts. I purchased some 8/4 Walnut, the wood threader from Highland Woodworking and with a little Google SketchUp help have almost completed about 5 of them so far. The single item that made this easier was the Hexagonal Graph Paper PDF Generator that allows you to select a size and print it out with a dot in the center. Here are some progress photo’s.

So that what they are! I thought they were thumbscrews. My wife has to use them on me to get me to help with the housework.LOL. Seriously this was a good blog and you did a great job making and threading them. Thanks for sharing.

I may have to place a consumer product warning on them. Any attorneys here I may need help with the wording?

“I may have to place a consumer product warning on them.”
How about—Don’t use this if you’re a nut.

Nice job.

I’m starting to finish 2 completed ones using H. Behlen
Salad Bowl Finish Below is text from the product.
Behlen Salad Bowl Finish has been
specially formulated to allow for the
following statement. “This product
contains FDA regulated ingredients
complying with 21 CFR 175.300.” and
therefore achieves a non-toxic, safe for
food contact (in its cured state) finish. Behlen Salad
Bowl Finish has the application ease of an oil finish
(just use a clean white cloth) and the film building and
sheen producing (up to a satin) qualities of a varnish.
Wooden bowls, wooden utensils, butcher blocks (not
intended for cutting boards or cutting blocks) and recreational
related objects (games, puzzles, pull toys) when
finished with Salad Bowl Finish may be used in contact
with foods. To insure that materials coated with Salad
Bowl Finish may be used in contact with food, one must
follow label directions.
