FOR THE GRIZZLY LOVERS - READ THIS - 84 replies

So I had an unpleasant dealing with Grizzly when I purchased a G0490x Jointer. You can read the original post here:http://lumberjocks.com/topics/59510 I left that situation with the knowledge I would never buy a Grizzly product again. Some of you agreed with me and some of you did not – saying Grizzly had great customer service. Tell me...

Opinions on Powermatic 209 20" Planer - 4 replies

Do any of you have this Planer? If so what is your opinion. There is one available in my area: http://fortcollins.craigslist.org/tls/4451232736.html I talked to the guy and he will take $1600. Still not sure if that would be a good deal or not. If I took it my intention would be to install a helical head in it eventually.

New Grizzly Jointer Condition - What would you do - 69 replies

Last Wednesday my first Grizzly tool arrived. It is the G0490x Jointer. First off, what everyone says about the grease and oil is true. Took 3 hours to get everything cleaned up. Finally got it put together and started to get it inspected and check adjustments. First problem was the outfeed table adjustment lever was loose. I thought some ...

What would be a decent price for this jointer? - 8 replies

What do you guys think would be a fair price for this: http://denver.craigslist.org/tls/4358049354.html I contacted him for model number and he replied 37-380. I asked him what he based his price on and he said from ebay listings, but when I checked there were no listings on ebay. I think asking price is too much, but don’t have ...

Anyone familiar with this jointer? - 4 replies

I’m thinking of upgrading my 6” jointer for an 8”. Saw this add on craigslist. I know it is not worth the 2000 he is asking for it since a new top of the line 0495x is 1900. But this thing weighs in at 800 lbs. So is anyone familiar with this model? http://denver.craigslist.org/tls/4305755958.html

Festool tools on closeout - 6 replies

If anyone has been looking at getting a Festool sander and extractor, they are replacing some models. The ETS 150 / 3 and ETS 150 / 5 along with the CT mini and CT midi are getting new models. The changes seem to be minor to me so I had now problem going with the existing models. They are discounting the existing versions now. I just picked u...

Why won't it work for me???? - 9 replies

So I just started doing some lathe turnings again after 30 years. I have been working on a couple sets of peppermills and am going nuts trying to get a good sanded finish. *Why can’t I get rid of the sanding lines?? I’ve read blogs on sanding turnings. I’ve watched videos. And I still end up having to sand by hand with th...

Align head and tail on Jet JWL-1236? - 17 replies

I picked up a Jet JWL-1236 lathe off of Craigslist. It is in great condition, however the head pin and tail pin is off by about 1/16” side to side. It is right on up and down. I have read where people have adjusted the head to compensate for the side to side discrepancy. I cannot find a way to do this. Is it possible? If so how do I do it?

Harbor Freight 20% coupon and sales items? - 10 replies

I have seen numerous posts here about purchasing a sale item at HF and then using the 20% coupon for additional savings. When I have tried that at the local HF I am told the coupon cannot be used with sales items. Question: For those of you who have successfully used the coupon with sales items, how did you go about it?

Will two HF Dustcollectors double capacity? - 26 replies

After reading posts on the great deal on Harbor Freight Dust Collectors I picked one up last week. However I do not want to use it as a portable unit.
