My workshop is certainly a work in progress (as I suspect is will be for the rest of my life). I am a relatively new woodworker – the interest is renewed, after lying dormant for many years, by the men on my wife’s side of the family – all who have dedicated workshops varying from somewhat overcrowded outbuildings to custom built buildings designed from the blue prints up to be a dedicated workshop.
Mine is 1 1/2 bays of our 3 1/2 bay garage.
I have insulated and dry walled the 1 1/2 bay and installed a 3000 watt wall heater and a 125 Amp panel to service the space. the overhead garage door makes easy access to sheet goods and allows for some added sunshine on any of the 300 days of sun the Denver area provides each year – there are also two windows and enough overhead lighting (for now). Ceilings are 12 feet (nice for overhead storage and clearance for maneuvering large items.
What you may be able to make out from the pictures are a Craftsman table saw. This was a gimme from my father in-law who upgraded to the cabinet version of the new Stop Saw. The Craftsman is about 30 years old – not really sure but I know my father in-law used it for many years and got it used – it still works very well and has cast iron wings and is supper flat and heavy. I have made part of a custom base that now incorporates a “temporary” version of a router table. I say temporary because I’ve been using it for almost a year and have not current plans for a more permanent one at the moment. I have a number of Delta pieces (thanks to some great sales at Rockler and to my wife for B-day and Christmas gifts – 1.5 hp dust collector, bandsaw and 6” jointer. There is also an older Craftsman bench-top Drill press – pretty cool unit that is a compound radial arm style that I have not seen made by craftsman any longer. Rounding out the major tools is a Dewalt 13” planer and a compound sliding chop saw. A few power hand tools – jig saws, sanders, drills and routers and clamps (never enough) and were off to projects.
One day I’ll break from projects long enough to finish the mudding and taping of the shop walls.

This is a pretty nice shop space that you have to work in. You have upgraded the Craftsman saw well with the router extension. This should improve the versatility of the saw. I also like the headroom that you have in your shop. From your tool list it sounds like you have a well equipped woodworking shop.
Thanks for the pictures. I enjoyed visiting your shop.
