One of the projects I’ll be working with this weekend is the base sink cabinet and integrated upper dish cabinet for Ella’s kitchen set.
I have only cut a couple pieces to date and plan to get quite a bit done this weekend between swim lessons and all the other chores.
The plan has changed a bit from the first piece to the set – the range and microwave – I’ve decided I would actually construct these kid size kitchen cabinets in very much the same way a full size version would be made – with a few modifications to limit the expense and take into account they need to be free standing.
More later – pictures to follow soon.

They both sound like good projects. Course whenever they are for the kids they wind up being really good in their eyes. Can’t wait to see some pics.
Welcome to LumberJocks.. btw.

Looking forward to getting my feet into the workshop first thing tomorrow morning—at the moment the range is occupying space in our family room along with quite a variety of kid size cooking “tools” – as I complete the sink and upper cabinet I may move the two pieces to the basement. I had planned to temporarily build a play house in the basement where these pieces would end up.
My ultimate goal is to raise a little woodworker with a passion for cooking – my other main hobby is as an armature gourmet (spent many years in the restaurant biz in another life)
Wishing happy woodworking to all
