« Part 4: Finally, thank you for the rain Part 5 of Workshop recovery (South LA Flood 2016) series Part 6: Finished the exterior »

Decided to take a bit of time off from work this past week for some continued work on the house and woodshop. Over the past 10 months one of the things we wanted to do was replace the vinyl siding on the house after the flood. The chemicals in the water had some really nasty stains and discoloration on the siding. So I paused to finish that project before moving on to the woodshop.

Once I got all the siding up, it was back to the woodshop. Over the holiday I was able to finish putting on the roof, treated the shed with mold protector to kill off some of the stuff that got wet. Installed the windows and finished wrapping it with house wrap. I will be finishing up the soffits and hopefully will have the exterior siding all done before the end of the weekend.

Yes, it did! But as of now, I only have two jobs to complete to get me back where I was on August 11, 2016 from the house and woodshop perspective. Once I finish the woodshop and shower, then I can go back to “normal” life.

I hear that. I didn’t flood but I’m an electrician so my services have been required often by friends and family since then.

Well good luck bud. Looks like it’s comin together :)

What area do you live if you don’t mind me asking?

Great progress, Freddie! It looks like it’s finally coming to an end – a happy one this time!

We live in the Watson area, in the non-flood zone neighborhood! :-)

Have your say...
