Part 1: Tool Gloat
Super jazzed, been searching for a bench top drill press and 14” bandsaw, and the local market had nothing, and every time I called on craigslist it was beat out by someone before me… But not today! I picked up a Delta 16 1/2” floor drill press, mortise attachment and a 14” Band saw with 2 blades and a delta mobile shop stand for the band saw all for $200… and they all work great!
Part 2: Getting the Garage in Order
Well to start this off, I should say the driving force behind getting the garage shop in order is that we ran out of storage in the house. We have a baby coming any day now, and there was just no room to put his stuff, ‘cause our stuff took all the space. Part 3: Craftsman 6 1/8 Jointer fail.
Yesterday my neighbor and I were getting ready to Joint some maple for his face frame, when I turned on the jointer, I noticed quite a bit of vibration, but I figured, the belt had been sitting for a while and probably just needed to be ran and formed. I had spent a few weeks rehabbing this old jointer that I got on CL for $80. It was in good condition, came with the excessively large floor stand, I put some new blades in it, cleaned the top surface to a nice shine, removed all the gunk, ...
