I needed to cut circles, but I didn’t really want to use a router.
I found this on LJ and made one out of scrap.
Using the 1/4-20 bolt for a center, circles a large as 15” radius can be cut.
For smaller circles, just put a wood screw into the base at the desired radius.
Not bad for a 10” band saw.

I found free plans for a porch glider and built with rough cut 8/4 poplar and finish cut 1×8 poplar.
The measurements in the plans were right on, except for one. Fortunately I realized that the
measurement for where the 1/4” holes for the Rockler brackets were off on the seat section and
was able to do them correctly before I assembled.
The wife says it has to be high gloss white, that should be fun.
Thanks for looking.

Another miter station

When you have a small shop, 1/2 the garage, it helps to be creative.
I have had this miter saw for years, but every time I needed to use it, it had to sit on the ground and I had to find a way to support the stock to hold it in position.
I decided to get a roll around tool box and mount the saw on it.
I added a piece of 3/4 MDF to add some strength then drilled 3/8” holes and bolted the saw to the top.
The wings fold down so the whole thing doesn’t take up as much space when not in use.

A bonus is that I now have four more drawers to store/hide junk.

I liked the result so I took the top box off my old roll around and mounted my little band saw on it.

No, I wasn’t. But I’m closer now.

Built from plans from Lowes. Their plans called for precut lumber, I built it out of rough cut white oak.
I learned a lot.

Grand daughters first swing

I’ve been putting my shop together for over a year, and finally had to build something for the grand daughters first birthday.
I had purchased some raw cut white oak to build a glider, but never got to it.
All the pieces were cut on a table saw. A router table mounted on the wing of the saw with a 1/4” round over bit cleaned up all the edges.
I found a picture of the swing and made up the plans.
The frame and back are all assembled using brass screws and SS bolts. The seat pieces are glued to the frame and polyurethane spray covered the whole thing.
It should last long enough for her to give it to her grand daughter.
