I’ve found this clear lathe dust collection hood very useful. It take a little bit of planning when setting it up on a lathe such as extending the tail stock support out to make room for your tool rest support and it helps a lot to have a flexible work light that can be kept low & to the rear of the lathe. About 5 years ago I purchased a Harbor Freight Band Saw & the Riser Kit. I never installed the riser kit & stored it away until I needed it. Several months ago i needed to replace some incandescent light bulbs that were burned out. So while waiting for a prescription at the local drug store I was checking out the houseware departent & bumped into the new Compact Florescent Light Bulbs. Several years ago I purchased a spear point marking knife from Harbor Freight for 4 bucks. I used the marking knife all the time as it has a sharp angle to get into tight corners &, being spear point, it’s “ambidextrous”. It also has a rosewood handle.
