well you say how can you
write such trash
where did you go
I’m sorry
unfortunately
it’s part of me too

even if to find it
the path you have to take
leads to long ago
I’m a much better man now
I have to say
to the red light
I no longer go
no longer go

the drink
I know now
was not worth it
the looseness
now that goes
just brings death

man is just
as responsible
both must honor what lovemaking is for
if not call it
for what it is
death
and nothing more
nothing more

the girls still
in the drink
sit around the break table
saying I’ll take
the pain killer the next time
lost touch of what’s real

the more giving of
expectancy
makes us weak
we lose the war
I can’t stop hearing
the screaming
it’s there forever more
forever more
that’s all they had the chance to be

Hi there,
This is a poem, not a song, (you would have to structure it differently to make a song out of it) a little deep for my taste, but keep writing .. :) I write some now and again myself.

Very Nice!

We now have two poets in our midst that I know of.

Which one is our poet laureate? You or Frank?

Getting pretty cerebral on us, Jack!! :)
Is this one autobiographical?

I’m not saying it couldn’t of happened
I’m just lucky it didn’t
now it couldn’t
