Wrapping up finish boards for my wife’s signature approval. LOL. That goes back many years ago when she and the family left for a vacation and I stayed home and painted the entire interior. When she got back, she walked through the house and said, ‘You know (I have come to hate those words), I really don’t like this shade. What do you think?’ I replied, ‘You know, I didn’t go to the paint store and pick out this color.’

Anyway, I just realized I have over 30 cabinet doors plus veneer to do. That’s over 60 glued up raised panels to sand smooth plus the rails and stiles are always a bit off. Nothing noticeable to my wife or anyone else but it will drive me insane. Kinda goes back to how square is square enough thread. This is something where the tail wags the dog.

So this is my project before the project.

I’m sure not going to give a couple of grand for a 24” thickness sander but I will spend a couple of hundred, cobble some 2X4s together and make one.

-- My greatest fear is that when I die, my wife will sell all my stuff for what I told her I bought it for.
