Cabinets almost complete, working on the doors. There will eventually be air lines that will wrap around the shop with quick-connect fittings. A vacuum system is on my wish list as well, currently I have a shop vacuum, a broom, a dust pan, and some elbow grease.

Peg board, under cabinet lighting, and counter-top complete.

I am also looking forward to taking a tour of your shop when you get a chance to post your pictures. It sounds like you are in the fun stage of shop evolution- making shop cabinetry/benches.

bottom cabinets – still need to make the doors and drawers. Plan on finishing the top with 3/8” hardboard over the 3/4 plywood and then edge it with 1×3 strips of fir.

installed the under-cabinet lighting – will post a pic at the top showing the lights in action (water-proof 5 Meter LED light kit – from the coolerguys.com) (requires an AC 2Amp transformer, lights pull 1.2Amps 12Volt DC) Figured to put in two 2 meter kits but they had this new one (cost was about $50.00 US). It wraps around under the cabinet lip and provides even lighting reflected off the peg-bard and wall. I wanted a solution that wouldn’t pull alot of power and that would light up the counter.

Chris,

Thanks for the nice comment on my shop. I try to keep it neat and tidy…..I hate a dirty shop to work in…lol. From the looks of your shop, it looks like you ‘ve got things going your way. It will be a nice place to do the projects when you get git done. Just keep plugging along, and you’ll get there soon. Rick.
