Well it looks like I’ll have plenty of time to spend on Lumberjocks these next 4 weeks! I was just operated for a hernia( inguinal) and will be off work for 4 weeks. Everything went well, and I can go home in a couple of hours.
Wish I had one of thosemilkman benches at home so I could work on some projects… I know if I show up at the shop my boss would expect me to work for him, not myself! let’s hope he doesnt expect me to do so much lifting when I go back, seems like he thinks we are movers instead of woodworkers ( I know I should’t call most of the crap he makes us do woodworking). Oh well

Here’s hoping you have a speedy recovery. I have had 2 of those dreaded inguinal hernias. The second occurred right below the first.
Try to take it easy. My second one was much more painful and took longer to heal than the first since they went in through the same place to do the repair. Just a forewarning.
From the sounds of your boss, the last place you need to go is work until that heals.
Btw, you’ll probably walk like a bent over old man for the next several days.. get ready for the jokes from the significant other…lol

Margaret, I had quit a little over a year before. I had never heard of it specifically influencing a hernia, but i’m happy I quit.

Have your say...
