I am a Creative Director at an ad agency. I have always loved woodworking and making boxes. About 10 years ago, I started working with an angle grinder to create far more interesting, and sculpture-like creations. We make furniture, cabinets, tables and have also made a king sized bed. My husband and I work as a team on the furniture. I always like to sand my works of art to at least 4000 grit and mostly use a tung oil mixture to give a beautiful satin sheen to my work.

Thanks so much for the feedback. This is why I joined LumberJocks! Chuck, I see you are a certified Adobe instructor and teach PhotoShop. That is also one of my hobbies. We have a camera club here in Memphis and occasionally, I will teach it, since you can never know EVERYTHING PhotoShop does!

And Miles125, you have awesome work too!

This is one of the reasons I like this group so much! You got me, I have been very busy on a really cool project. So this weekend, I will pull out the camera and show you what has kept us so busy.

Thanks so much for pushing!

Ellen, I really admire your work, the carving in the banister is absolutely perfect. I also agree wholeheartedly with your comments regarding the touch and feel of hand made woodwork. I think this provides the owners with a physical connection with the craftsman unlike any other. Can you imadgine how many fingertips will brush across the surface of the bannister, how many generations even. This is why I love woodworking, such a wonderful oppurtunity to share our heart, long after our name is forgotten.
thank you so much,
harold
