My workshop is in the basement, and is slowly being converted from a “Home Maintenance & Improvement” to a “Woodworking” shop.
It’s 12 X17, and I installed a zero clearance ceiling to get the most out of the ceiling height. I had an exhaust fan installed a few years ago (basic bathroom fan) but it works well. I had an electrician put in 3 20 amp lines for the tools i’ve acquired the past couple of years. First thing I did was replace my 30 year old Sears tablesaw with a Saw Stop saw. Then I bought Rikon bandsaw (their office is in the town nearby). It was a floor model on sale, but was all tuned up and works great. I just bought the Jet 17DX drill press and looking forward to testing it out. The Rigid spindle sander just came out of the box and I’ve used it once, and it’s going to save a lot of time.
I’m still trying to figure out the best use of space, and I need to work on adding drawers to my workbench, which I built about 25 years ago.
